Launching your Podcast
You have a good idea, and you don’t know where to start with your podcast? Or you find yourself talking yourself out of launching because it seems overwhelming.
Well, here are 5 things to consider as you get ready to launch your podcast so that you can cut out the frustration, lack of clarity and wasted time.
1. Your why and your subject.
Why are you launching your podcast, what is the motivation behind the podcast? Write it down your why, this will keep you focused so that you don’t try to become everyone else in podcast land. Along with what are you talking about on your show?
2. Your launch date and your frequency.
Put a date on it. If you continue to be vague about the launch it usually won’t happen. Pick a date even if it’s a soft date. Then decide your frequency “consistency” of your show. If it’s once a month stick with it because your audience will be expecting, you once a month. Your defined consistency develops trust.
3. Your editing.
Are you going to learn how to edit or are you going to hire an editor? Editing matter, poor audio quality can turn your audience away even if your podcast is amazing, they won’t know.
4. Your marketing.
People tend to operate with the mindset of if they build it, they will come. That people will just knock down the door and find you. But there needs to be a solid plan on who you are talking to, where they hang out and how you are connecting with them beyond the episode air date.
5. Your team.
Are you willing to become the researcher, producer, project manager, graphic designer, editor, creative director, script writer and list goes on?
If you felt the overwhelm creeping up on you as you went over the list don’t let this deter you from showing up, you can grab out book or sign up for a discovery call.
